Colombian President Álvaro Uribe says attack on Raúl Reyes’s camp made Operation Checkmate possible

In a public event, Colombian president Alvaro Uribe celebrated Operation Checkmate’s first anniversary. He stated that the military operation on FARC chief Raul Reyes’s camp in Ecuador made it possible and urged public forces to energize efforts against FARC. He also discussed the situation involving Juan Manuel Santos, former defense minister of the country, who has been issued a warrant for his arrest by a Ecuadoran prosecutor.
